Dot Barrouk
Monahan
March 13, 2026
Dot, a beloved house bunny, tiny adventurer, and occasional household menace, has hopped over the rainbow bridge after a long life full of curiosity, snacks, and legendary mischief. Though small in size, Dot filled every room she entered and often the rooms she was absolutely not supposed to enter.
From the time she was little, Dot believed that if something existed in the house, it was meant to be explored. One of her earliest feats of ingenuity involved discovering that her treats had been placed on a floating shelf well above bunny height. This, in Dot’s mind, was merely a challenge. Somehow, she managed to climb onto the shelf and begin pushing the treats around, rolling them down to the floor like a tiny snack mastermind until she realized she had successfully gotten up there but had no clear plan for getting back down. She loved adventures even if she lacked basic self preservation, especially where snacks were involved.
Dot spent the rest of her life living by one rule: the highest point must be conquered. Pillow mountains, couch backs, carefully stacked blankets if there was a summit in the house, Dot would find a way to stand triumphantly on top of it. On sunny afternoons Dot could be found lounging in a sun patch or on top of her box condo, on her blue bunny blanket.
As a young bunny, Dot also proved she had a talent for electrical work specifically, destroying it. Two large household freezers fell victim to her determination after she carefully bit but did not chew through their power cords. While costly for the humans involved, it cemented Dot’s reputation as a bunny who approached life with fearless enthusiasm.
Footwear in the home was never safe either. Dot had a particular fondness for the aglets on shoelaces, which she considered irresistible chew toys. Eventually, strict protective measures had to be introduced. Thus, “shoe jail” became a household policy, where all shoes had to be carefully stored out of reach to protect them from her tiny reign of terror.
Despite having more toys than any bunny could reasonably need, Dot preferred the forbidden treasures of the household especially her human’s keys. Keys were vastly superior to store-bought toys and were treated as prized discoveries whenever she managed to claim them. You would then find the house filled with the jiggling of keys and she tossed them around with panache.
Dot also had a special way of appearing exactly where she shouldn’t be. Instead of causing chaos once she got there, she would quietly sit behind a barely cracked door she had somehow opened, patiently staring at you until you noticed her as if she had simply been there the whole time and you were late to the meeting.
She had excellent taste in snacks. Dot adored cherries, blueberries, and watermelon, and she firmly believed bananas were a shared experience. If a banana appeared in the house, it was understood that Dot would be participating. Anything less was simply unacceptable.
Through it all, Dot was rarely alone thanks to her loyal companion, Mr. Broccoli a tiny broccoli-shaped stuffed toy who accompanied her on countless adventures around the house and served as the perfect pillow for afternoon naps. Mr. Broccoli was not just a toy; he was a trusted friend and fellow explorer in Dot’s daily life.
Dot’s adventures were shared with the world through her Instagram page, @thedailydot, where her curious spirit, tiny hats, and expressive little face brought joy to fellow bunny lovers everywhere. She also made many guest appearances on twitch, winning the heart of the internet and a large collection of fan art.
Dot was also the very best dressmaking assistant to her mom. While her human worked on elaborate gowns, Dot happily supervised every step of the process. She loved darting beneath the sweeping skirts of ballgowns spread across the floor and would often settle in for cozy naps on top of pattern pieces as they were being traced and cut. Fabric, tulle, and layers of skirts made the perfect playground, and Dot considered herself an essential part of the creative process.
But her most important role was at home, where she was deeply loved and completely irreplaceable. She spent her days nibbling on book edges and taking many fluffy naps.
She leaves behind a heartbroken but grateful human who gave her a life full of snacks, pillow summits, and unconditional love. The house will feel quieter without the soft patter of bunny feet, the suspiciously open doors, and the watchful stare from places she definitely should not have been.
Though she was small, Dot leaves behind enormous love, unforgettable memories, and proof that the tiniest creatures can create the biggest stories.
Binky free, sweet Dot. You were loved more than words can hold!
