Obituary

Some companions leave pawprints on our hearts so deeply that their absence is felt in every quiet moment. Lucy was one of those extraordinary souls. Lucy loved people with her whole heart, greeting friends and strangers alike with the kind of affection that made everyone feel special. Dogs, however, were another story entirely; she made her opinions on them abundantly clear and never saw any reason to change them. A true paradox, Lucy was both a curmudgeon and a sweetheart, often at the very same time. She had a stubborn streak, especially when she developed a remarkable ability to become suddenly "deaf" whenever people food was involved.

To her father Lucy was more than a companion; she was a confidant and a best friend. Her unwavering presence, quiet understanding, and unconditional love carried him through his hardest moments.

Run free, sweet Lucy. Thank you for being exactly who you were. You were deeply loved, and you will be missed beyond words.
