Lauren R. Calvey
Lauren is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Operator of Aspen Meadows LLC, a fully functioning pet funeral home operating in partnership with Jennings-Calvey Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Originally from Villanova, Pennsylvania, Lauren earned her undergraduate degree in criminology from Cabrini University and later completed a master’s degree in forensic medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before relocating to Clarks Summit, Lauren also served as the Lieutenant of the Spring Mill Fire Company’s Forensic Dive Search, Rescue & Recovery Team. Lauren initially planned to begin her career in the death care industry as a death investigator in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. However, through her graduate and volunteer work, she discovered a deep calling toward mental health counseling. She shifted her professional focus and went on to work as a mental health clinician, specializing for more than 13 years in supporting clients navigate complex trauma and grief.
In June 2025, after the unexpected loss of Aspen, her cherished therapy support dog, Lauren found herself reexamining the connection between her years of clinical experience and the profound personal grief she had endured. Aspen’s passing became the catalyst for a new vision—one that allowed Lauren to unite her mental health background with her long-standing passion for the death care industry. From this vision, Aspen Meadows was born.
Today, Lauren brings both expertise and compassion to her role at Aspen Meadows and Jennings Calvey Funeral Home and Cremation services. She is dedicated to supporting families through grief and guiding them in aftercare, ensuring each family receives comfort, understanding, and meaningful resources during their time of need.
